The humans still coexist with me unaware of my other worldly species. I miss outerspace. They do strange things on this blue planet like sweat... and exchange "high-fives". It changes every millennia. I am slowly becoming more and more human by the day, flawlessly hidden and slipped in between mediocre human eyes. My scales are itchy, but that's a tedious annoyance in the grand scheme of things. It cannot hinder my steps towards my destiny as an intergalactic hero.
I miss my nurses, and my teachers that would share tales of the time of peace on my dear home planet. Mother would always tell me that when my scales would fall the great rivers would flow again with waves of iodine and fish....not water.
I miss the city streets that were once laced with green jade. Poisonous lizards used to climb up the golden garden gates lining my castle's backyard. My peers and I would catch them and eat them at our younger years delight. Nothing could end my pursuit of happiness, especially as far as my family and royal subjects were concerned.
Then one day it all changed, the great mountains began to explode. Thousand year old books and knowledge turned to dust as our oceans would instantly freeze. The evil powers were too strong to hold under the royal family's control any longer, and it came down upon us bringing death and destruction to my wonderful people...
The lizards here lack that sour taste I loved. Pity.
