Jeff "The Ryan Brothers" Ryan
Where are you now?
I'm the managing editor for a medical journal. (I was one of the Signal editors who prompted the original group to be called Mixed Signals.) Married, house, child, car, the whole adult-life thing. I'm even thinking about developing a bald spot and complaining that music nowadays was just idiotic noise. Now Limp Bizkit, THERE were some classy, talented guys!
What do you miss most about being in The Mixed Signals?
I miss people telling me to be a pimp for three minutes.
What do you miss least about being in The Mixed Signals?
We wore navy blue t-shirts back in the day. I don't miss wearig the t-shirts.
Advice to current and future members:
Remember the five rules of improv:
1) fart equals funny
2) introduce noun game with the examples "blender", "proctologists's office", and
"dildo", thereby eliminating them as suggestible words
3) in Alphabet, the poor bastard who gets J also has the double-shot of X and Z
down the road, so try to bring up the X-Files or zoos or Zambia something
4) doing a Harold well is like putting flour, sugar, and eggs in your mouth and
hoping you'll poop cake
5) the confidence you have strolling up on stage with absolutely no idea what you'll
say but that it will be funny will stick with you, making the rest of life a breeze.
